As he contemplates this life-altering opportunity, Mihai casts his mind back to the early days of his employment. He remembers his initial arrival from his village, filled with aspirations of building his own house and securing a respectable life. These dreams served as his driving force as he embarked on this new chapter.
His journey began humbly, as an unskilled worker. Despite the modest nature of his work, Mihai was diligently saving every penny he earned. His focus was on accumulating enough funds to fulfill his long-term goals. This thrifty behavior and clear dedication show his commitment to a future he dreams of.
The Young Worker Union recognizes his potential and actively encourages him to enhance his skills and become a qualified worker. They can help him with the process of becoming a professional. The UTM sees his skills and recognizes that with a little bit of formation, he could thrive in the factory.
However, Mihai consistently rejects their proposals. He clearly states that his desire is to return to his village soon. He expresses his intention to resume his life as a shepherd, indicating that his ultimate aspirations lie outside the realm of factory work and communist affiliation. This reveals a deep-seated conflict between the potential for career advancement within the system and his longing for a simpler, more personal existence rooted in his rural origins.
